The old adage 'one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ is creatively applied to everyday objects in the studio of Blue Dragonfly Creations. Jeannine Fitzgeralds has been recycling since before recycling was cool, taking items that would otherwise be discarded and transforming them into functional art pieces. From her custom lettering and crosses to cork wreaths and hot plates, each piece is eye-catchingly unique. She creates reusable notebook covers out of old tshirts giving new life to used fabric. Her notebook covers are available for sale in her studio and at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Jeannine is not one to let scraps go to waste - what’s left of the tshirts gets hand woven into colorful rugs.

Jeannine is a hands on creative, always eager to try our new materials and see what she can come up with. Gardening gloves, paintbrushes, fishing luers and bottle caps can be seen in her artwork. Interested in learning how to make something yourself, or show your homeschoolers how to creatively recycle? Jeannine is available for private classes, just contact her here for more information!
