THE AMERICAN ASTRONAUT follows the adventures of an interplanetary trader through his Homeric intergalactic journey to provide the all-female population of Venus with a suitable singular male, all the while being pursued by the cold-blooded killer, Professor Hess, an enigmatic figure from his past. The film features an original soundtrack by the The Billy Nayer Show. (This film is back by popular demand)

Sonia, the fifth incarnation of a secret society, Priestess of the Pharaoh's Circle is lost and doesn't know it. Her group has been meeting for thousands of years fighting chaos, and building harmony. Incarnations are granted special powers to help them carry out their tasks in secrecy including astral travel, astral vision, and turning into cats. As a safeguard to protect their secret, any Priestess that fails to report for duty by the appointed time must die. Priestesses Kalil, Giadania, Matlnia, and Ashell will stop at nothing to get their Sister back. Priestess was filmed in North Alabama last fall. Award-winning director, Chris Malone directed this fantasy.

The short film, Losers of the Year, is a MOCKumentary about 8 different people who all share one thing in common - their love of one woman. The ficticious adult filmstar, Miss Dixie Mountains, had sex with 712 men in one day - with open auditions to anyone interested in participating. interviews with 8 of these people (including the iceboy and a person who didn't even make it in) to see how their lives had changed due to this event. The hidden motive behind the interviews is to find out what type of person would lower their standards to do such a thing. No nudity, yet plenty of vulgar language, this movie will make everyone blush at some point. Starring a cast of people from Huntsville as well as Arab, Alabama. View the trailer.

Guitarist Phil Weaver will perform a variety of solos ranging from Latin American and Spanish flamenco to avant-garde and Celtic. Featured on the program is a set with Arthur Wesley on congas and other percussion instruments with sambas by Villa-Lobos and Cardoso, two Venezuelan waltzes by Lauro, a tango by Astor Piazzolla, and a Cuban dance by Leo Brouwer.

Matt Haimovitz is among the world's finest classical cellists. Like Yo-Yo Ma, he was a student of the late Leonard Rose. He played Carnegie Hall at 13 and counts violinist Itzhak Perlman among his musical mentors. Now 32, Haimovitz runs the cello department at the University of Massachusetts.

Drums vs. Drum Machines. Samplers vs. Guitars. Take these oppositional elements, add a willingness to start a band first and learn how to use the gear later, crank it up to 25,000, and that's somewhere in the neighborhood of The Octopus Project. They've created a unique style of music that will appeal to people who like the experimentation of progressive post-rock, the blips and bleeps of electronica and the raw, human ROCK of rock.

Experimental folk using electric guitar, pedals, organ. Some songs are political, but most songs are about falling in love with an acrobat from the circus or elephant death rituals. With spoken word artist Dan Solomon.

Set against the backdrop of a mythic "New West," a film satire written and directed by John Sayles that follows grammatically-challenged, "user-friendly" candidate Dicky Pilager, scapegrace scion of Colorado's venerable Senator Jud Pilager, during his gubernatorial campaign. When Pilager finds that he's reeled in a corpse during the taping of an environmental political ad, his ferocious campaign manager, Chuck Raven, hires former idealistic journalist turned rumpled private detective Danny O'Brien to investigate potential links between the corpse and the Pilager family's enemies. Danny's investigation pulls him deeper and deeper into a complex web of influence and corruption, involving high stakes lobbyists, media conglomerates, environmental plunderers, and undocumented migrant workers.

Saturday - 6th - Monster Road, Admission $5 (8pm)
Monster Road is a feature-length documentary that explores the dazzling and fantastic worlds of legendary underground clay animator Bruce Bickford. Entirely self-taught, the 57 year old Bickford works alone in a small basement studio in his house near Seattle. His films, especially the dark and magical clay animations he created for musician Frank Zappa in the 1970s, have achieved cult status worldwide, even though very little of his 40 year body of work has been edited or released to the public.

Featured will be two Huntsville guitarists, Phil Weaver on classical guitar and Microwave Dave on electric guitar. The two artists will perform solo and duet selections with improvisations during the event. The Flying Monkey has been a source for cabaret-style entertainments during the past year, re-establishing a home base for the form in the Tennessee Valley.
